The Ragin’ Cajuns are on the cusp of a breakthrough as a Group of 5 program. Sun Belt titles are no longer the ultimate goal. They could soon cement the program alongside the giant killers at Boise State and UCF with yet another double-digit win season.

To get there, Napier must guide Louisiana to a New Year’s Six Bowl, maintain a top-25 ranking (the program was ranked in 2020 for the first time since 1943) and win a second straight Sun Belt title. The ingredients are in place to accomplish all of this (and maybe more) after a 10-1 season that included a 31-14 victory in Week 1 at Iowa State, a program that later advanced to its first Big 12 title game in 2020.
