Will the BCS Selection Committee really weigh a forfeit the same as if a team takes the field and gets curb stomped?

Had this rule been in effect last year, it suggest that there may have been a totally different result in the determination of SBC champion.

The Covid Chickens would have either had to play or forfeit.

In other words, the Commissioner could not have condoned cheating to advance the cause of the Covid Chickens.

If you have say 3 starters out, do you have to forfeit or do you just use substitutes and play the game? Wouldn't 2nd teamers step up and play in that scenario or does the whole team go into quarantine and forfeit the game?

Why chance a loss on the field if you believe the forfeit will not be held against you in the end. If you are a have, you forfeit and take that chance.

That statement is what allowed CC to back out. They were scared and they had enough players to play.
