An overturned tractor trailer completely blocked the westbound lanes of I-10 in the Duson area for about 2 hours Monday night.
"For unknown reasons the driver ran off the right side of the road, over-corrected to the left, and then the 18-wheeler overturned, blocking both westbound lanes of travel," said Trooper Stephen Hammons with Louisiana State Police.
Around 11:00 p.m. Monday the truck was moved to allow drivers that were stuck behind it to pass, though I-10 west was still closed between Duson and Scott while crews worked to remove the tractor trailer.
The driver of the truck was treated for minor injuries and is expected to face charges. The truck was carrying furniture, and did not create a haz-mat situation.
