KLFY Reporting Offer to Floyd

_ Floyd's best days were at UNO. He hasn't lived up to expectations at any place that he's coached since he left there. He has name recognition, but at this stage of his career, he is average at best. _

He had a couple of NCAA appearances at Iowa State and USC [neither noted as a basketball power], and even won at Idaho.

Turb. I agree with you. I also think that D. Walker may think along those same lines. I would still be very surprised if T. Floyd is the coach at UL next year.

_ No baggage he has been cleared..........has great resume', big name, If he leaves in 3 or so years but has attendance back around 7,000+ and back into the NCAA tourney a time or 2, then UL will be that much more attractive and UL will have that much MORE money to attract a simular coach or better!!!!!

If Floyd has been cleared, it is news to me. Who is your source on that report. I would have thought that a story he has been cleared would attract quite a bit of attention from the conventional media.

Disagree. You want a coach who will come in and stay a long time and build some continuity with this program. With Floyd hes gone in 3 years. With Butch you have that chance for him to be here 8-10 years.

Kinda like UL calling a press conference to announce the hiring of a firm to investigate Evans and Johnson but forgot to send out a press release when Evans was cleared of wrongdoing.
If UL did send out a report the media had no interest.

Okay, so you like Pierre and I have no problem with that. There is no sure thing, both could very possibly flop here in Lafayette. To me, we could do a lot worse then either candidate, so in that respect we both want this program to improve. Long term continuity is nice, but if Pierre comes here and wins SBC championships, who is to say he would stay 8-10 years? He would certainly get his share of opportunities to move on to better programs.

Sooo, the NBA called when he was at Iowa St because he was doing an average job? If I remember correctly Iowa St was in the top 20. Hwere exactly are they now?
Rip on Floyd for the mess at USC, but he has been a very good college coach.

I am usually not either, but think standing pat last year requires it to affirm that this university is serious about playing basketball at a high level. Right know there is a need to not only win over new fans but recapture long-time fans from the past who think the Bo Lamar days are gone forever.

If this were last year I would probably prefer Kennedy or one of the two Texas head coaches. I would not take Pierre because he hasn't been a D1 head coach.

I want to know the dummy who leaked the info to KLFY and why they ran with it?

If this were true there would have been a lot more news today.

"Offers" should never be news or make the news, on the other hand "Accepted offers" is news.
