Liberty is trying to get in a conference and they have plenty of money.

#1--Our fans hate 5 home games and you have already started off on the wrong foot. We will hear nothing but how awful it is that we have only 5 home games.

#2--Most big opponents don't want to travel to teams like us even if it is a 2 for 1. It will probably have to be a 3-1. So assuming that is an option is a huge assumption.

#3--we struggle to get solid competition now not being an independent. So maybe we keep the Liberty's/Ohio's, etc. But we do that now, no change.

#4--Good luck with a 1 for 2. That will be vs terrible opponents.

    #5 --OKAY????
UL has 3 home games right now!

5 Saturday Night games is 170% better.

Cool, I love seeing us play NMSU twice in one season. I will pay for that every season.

    Upcoming Independent schedule

    Home Games
    NMSU
    UMASS
    Nicholls or equal
    Ohio or equal
At best a low level P5 team, probably another MAC opponent

    Road Games
NMSU (cause we have to play them twice)
SEC Team or similar pay day game
Big XII Team or similar pay day game
    UConn
AAC Team or similar no return game guaranteed
Another Money game to fill out the schedule if we are lucky
Schedule filler either a top tier G5 or another independent on the road

Back to back bye weeks or 2 bye weeks in the weeks, because we have to work around everyone elses conference schedule.

Man I am pumped to play this schedule, who is with me......Meanwhile all other sports are now competing with whoever is left in the Southland, or possibly if we are lucky the A-Sun/Big South or Southern Conferences, but probably traveling to play in the Horizon or Missouri Valley conference where our closest conference mates are 6-8 states away!!!!

    Geaux Independent!!!!!!!(Sarcasm)

We have 6 home games, you might not like that they are not on Saturday nights, but we have 6 home games. I don't know your new math, but I count 6.

Many have commented that week night games are impossible.

As an independent UL can control when it plays its games and thus maximize its gate/budget potential.

All home games being at the same time makes going to the games a no brainer, it's just a lifestyle.

Average home attendance will grow to be twice the size with 5 home games at a specified time on Saturday night. As opposed to 3 games at some unknown when in the middle week and missed games because they forgot it was one of the 3 Saturday games.

Five solid starts trump six unknowns.

Every single year you have to schedule 12 new opponents.

Your income projections for the road games are higher than any game we have played for pay to date.

You give our fans way too much credit for going to any home game.

I like the enthusiasm but nothing else about the plan.

    sorry.

We will agree to disagree. Average home attendance will increase by continuing to win, whether those games are Tuesday or Saturday, You are correct certain people will never be able to go, but you win and those games will get bigger attendance from the casual fan.

Boise state and Virginia tech built their programs playing on week nights in packed stadiums.

Pretty good read. Meltdown, of course. Thank you Lord for unanswered prayers.

Yeah, 35 years ago. Back when Va Tech and BYU were regulars on Thursday night, there was nothing else on TV and no internet. That may as well have been in the 1800's.

Playing on Thursdays now is a net negative.
