Thread: 6 Group of Five contenders for New Year’s Six Bowls

  1. UL Football 6 Group of Five contenders for New Year’s Six Bowls

    Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns

Louisiana was one score away from perfection in 2020. A three-point loss to Coastal Carolina on October 14 was the lone blemish. Louisiana made noise with a 17 point upset win at Ames against Top-20 ranked Iowa State

Not sure about coasting thru the SunBelt slate. May have been a close game or two/three. But who’s counting. I still relish the opportunity to be mentioned in an article on this topic.

No doubt. The first 2/3 of conference play felt like a dogfight.

We had to come back from several of our games. ISU, GSU, GSouthern, UAB, App. There may be others. Brutal from a fan standpoint, but oh so rewarding to win those types of games.

Everyone must remember to start conference play we were missing a lot of starters especially on D…we were down 20 players just for the GA southern game and 10 were starters and consistent rotation players…. That’s a big hit….. this team has a great foundation as we are 3 deep in almost every position. GSU will be the sleeper team this year. Troy has potential to be a sleeper but I dunno if they have the right coaching staff.

Well, put it another way, everyone was facing the same challenges last year but in the end we faced them better. Agreed that our foundation is strong, so 2021 should be at least as good as 2020…..probably even better.

This team goes undefeated. I think they beat Texas and take the SBC champ. This is the year!

Those challenges aren’t over, they just made a team forfeit a chance at a national title...there will be more bull____ in the fall

In a wild scenario in which the Cajuns run the table and somehow make the CFP, I could possibly see this being viable.

Texas would have to win out and Liberty and the rest of the teams on our schedule would have to stay hot…even then not sure we could sneak in.
