Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball head coach Gerry Glasco announced on Monday (July 12) the addition of Meghan Schorman (Hazelwood, Mo.) to the program's roster for the 2021-22 academic year.

A right-handed pitcher, Schorman joins the Ragin' Cajuns after spending the previous three seasons at SEC-member Kentucky. She has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

"Meghan (Schorman) brings us a great arm with not only experience at the highest levels of college softball, but also success," Glasco said. "She was tremendous in the 2020 season for Kentucky and we firmly believe she strengthens the depth of our pitching staff."

Schorman pitched two complete seasons for Kentucky, the last coming during the COVID-shortened 2020 season. She appeared in 21 games in 2019 finishing with a 5-2 record and 3.48 ERA and was off to a great start at 7-1 with a 1.30 ERA and 45 strikeouts over 43 innings in 2020 prior to the pandemic-related shutdown.

A Top 25 win over Oregon and NCAA Regionals experience highlighted her collegiate debut campaign. As a sophomore in 2020, Schorman surpassed her rookie season wins total with seven, posted wins over 2021 NCAA Tournament participants Liberty and Minnesota, and led the Wildcats staff in ERA (1.30) over 10 appearances (eight starts).

A three-year letterman at Marquette Catholic in the St. Louis area, Schorman earned first and second team all-conference honors and set the school record with 36 wins in the circle in 2018. She was named Riverbend AdVantage Softball Player of the Year and was the recipient of Telegraph News Player of the Year honors.

Schorman will be arriving in Louisiana with Extra Inning Softball's No. 1-ranked recruiting class this August for the start of the fall 2021 semester.

The recruiting class includes: Jacquelyn and Jessica Adams (Bryan, Texas/Bryan HS), Laney Credeur (Old Mines, Mo./Kingston K-14 School), Kramer Eschete (Brenham, Texas/Brenham HS), Kayla Falterman (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands HS), Samantha Graeter (Spring, Texas/Oak Ridge HS), Maddie Hayden (West Monroe, La./West Monroe HS), Elia Hebel (Albany, Texas/Albany HS), Samantha Landry (Mont Belvieu, Texas/Barbers Hill HS), Alexa Langeliers (Keller, Texas/Keller HS), Tyler Oubre (Destrehan, La./Destrehan HS) and McKenzie Wittenberg (Fort Myers, Fla./Riverdale HS).
