Regarding the name battle, the AP is really our last big hurdle. A successful season this year would go a long way. But I know for certain that we’ve been in touch with those folks and have been working on getting it changed.

AP mostly, but vannini as well. Just curious what possible BS reasons they could possibly be giving at this point.

I don’t know what the issue is with AP. That’s a question for Nico or Patrick. I just know that they have been in contact with AP.

The Vaninni thing is complicated, but the very short version is that he has LaNech colleagues that didn’t “appreciate him going against the spirit of the law in Louisiana.” Chris doesn’t want to ruffle feathers, but he was very complimentary of our program and everyone he’s been in contact with associated with Ragin Cajun Athletics.

You know how I feel about the name and I came away impressed with him. Didn’t agree with his reasoning but understood why it was a tough spot for him.
