With this transfer portal and with the Supreme Court ruling it is time that we move to a salary cap in ncaa sports and pay players... the transfer portal is crazy out of hand and also there is 0 commitment by young players to help build your program... the thought is if I can’t start right away here I will go else where...there needs to be contracts signed when signing ball players.... if you institute an athletic wide salary cap for athletes it will help the situation. The horse is already out the barn so we might as well make the changes and let folks know the rules and move forward. Face it college athletics is a business now and it should be treated as such.

Who pays for this and if there is a salary cap then you are right back to this point because everyone will be paid the same. If you don't have a salary cap then the schools with the most money will get all the best players and out bid everyone.

I had originally been told up to 21 maybe transfering out or not returning. I have now been told that number will be around 16. 14 in the portal and 2 possible players drafted. We will see what happens. Correct on Brock he is not in the portal and all indications are he will return. A few kids leaving have been a surprise and a few that was leaving and decided to stay is a surprise.

Not surprising all these kids are jumping ship. Its a tragedy but unfortunately the majority of the team does not believe in Deggs. They feel he is a phony and not genuine. Also, JT is despised by the players. It is what it is. Hopefully Deggs can find the right mix of players that are buying what hes selling. His last team didn't.

I remember Robe mentioning that people were not happy with Deggs after his first year or two at Sam, then Robe said something along the lines of just give him time and he will win. And guess what happened. I remember hearing complaints about the team not being tough enough and talented enough during the season, so maybe there needs to be a lot of players in the portal to bring in guys that do fit Deggs’s model. Didn’t seem to be enough OKG’s on the team this year.

A salary does not make sure everyone is paid the same.... it makes athletic departments basically have a GM who manages your cap space and you have to strategize how you will spend your money...salary cap just ensures you can’t go over a certain amount.

1. If I recall, when MAT was doing this, you were posting in support of the coach. Has that changed?

2. It is hard to keep the locker room when a fan is surreptitiously talking to 18 to 23 year old players about their coach and then airing a biased recollection of those conversations on the University's message board, mid season.

So far it’s 2-3 kids that even played...not sure that qualifies “as all these kids jumping ship” If they didn’t play with an expanded roster they might not even make the 35 next year, I’d consider leaving too without having to sit.

I think your missing the point....Its not just the kids leaving that dont like MD or JT, its the majority of the players. Every day players as well as bench sitters. The problem is the "Team" as a whole is not believing in the HC. I hope Deggs figures this out sooner rather than later.

So the whole team hates Deggs and Talbot and don’t believe in them
but are staying anyway even with the no sit out rule? Sounds fishy to me

The overall sentiment of the team is what i just said. Spin it as you wish. Either way that's 40% of your team leaving..Not sure how much you know about baseball or college athletics but if 40% of your workforce left your company its time to look in the mirror.
