Volleyball Recruiting

Gents, I know that most of you don't follow Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball, but I figured with the mixed pride and anticipation of the pending season with all its changes - I'd update the Cajun Nation on recruiting by new Coach, Kristi Gray.

Emery Judkins - (Odessa College) - played for Coach Gray at OC. Redshrited at SFA (Southland) out of H.S. All-State as a Senior. Has (2) years left to play.

Coco Gillett - (SFA) - played (1) season at SFA. Earned player of the week honors. For those that don't know SFA has had (3) 20+ win seasons consecutively for the last 5 seasons.

Reka Kotorman - (Iowa Western) - played (1) season at IW. Was on the Hungarian junior Olympic team. Also helped her club teams to 8 consecutive championships from U13-U21.

Coach Gray is building her team, piece-by-piece. Only 10 players list on the roster for this coming season (not including the three above), so Coach has somem work cut out for her as they had 19 on the roster for last season's TOP 15 Ranked team.

I'm not a wiz at Volleyball, but a back-up Libero, another pure setter (Kotorman is one), an outside hitter and defensive specialist should be filled soon.

I know it’s early and her 1st season, but she is reminding me of Robe in that she likes to go after CC/JUCO/D-1AA players. They may not be P-5, but they have experience against better competition than HS and they’re hungry to compete. Should make for an interesting chemistry.

It also may fit with her current recruiting knowledge base where she has invested a lot of time the past few years.
