That's what always made the Cajuns/Jags baseball rivalry so much fun. Both teams were loaded with those types of players and mentality. Coach Robe's interview where he went off about travel ball and working while you wait got lots of play, but towards the end of that was him talking about South AL's club and how "they're not underwear models".

South AL wins 4-0 to force the if-necessary game at 2:30.

The Jags still have some bullpen left ... but they actually look a bit better staffed for Monday. If the Jags can win tonight and get to a seventh game, they could potentially bring back ...

    - Tyler Lehman (60.1 IP, 4.48) - 4.0 innings and 73 pitches Friday vs. Miami (1R 1 ER)
    - Jackson Boyd (35.2 IP, 3.03) - 4.0 innings and 55 pitches Friday vs. Miami (0 H, 0 R)
    - Miles Smith (82.2 IP, 2.18) - 6.0 innings and 82 pitches Saturday vs. Florida (5 H, 1R, 1 ER)
Boswell (4.0 innings/75 pitches Sunday) and Perez (5.0 innings/65 pitches Monday) combine for the 4-0 shutout.

South Alabama should have plenty pitching available to piece together one more win. That said, South Florida likely goes with their ace (Jasiak - 6-7, 2.92, 89.1 IP) whom threw 4 innings and 78 pitches Friday.

South Alabama could lead with Lehrmann (4.0 innings/73 pitches Friday) and follow with Boyd (4.0 innings/55 pitches Friday) again. Dalton threw 28 pitches yesterday, Samaniego threw 29 pitches yesterday, and Miles Smith might be available for an inning if the Jags needed it (82 pitches Saturday).

A chance for their first super regional appearance. Would make them the 3rd SBC team to appear in a super?

Interestingly enough, though in separate conferences at the time, Georgia Southern inflicted heartbreak on South Alabama in the 1990 Wichita regional when they defeated South Alabama in the winner take all game ... 6-5 ... sending Georgia Southern to the 1990 CWS. #5 seed Georgia Southern took 2/3 from #3 seed South Alabama in that regional. It was the next year when the Cajuns squared off against Jon Lieber and the #3 seed Jaguars in the 1991 Baton Rouge regional.

The South LF just made the best grab I’ve ever seen to absolutely rob a 2 run shot!
