We will be fine at QB.

IMHO, Fields showed he is ready at the spring game. He could step in now if required. I cannot recall that the Cajuns ever had as much quality depth at the QB position.

Maybe we should consider getting through the 2021 season before starting to panic about what will happen in 2022!

Our running game is a bit of an unknown at this point. The Offensive line should be improved over last year and that's a huge plus. We have many running backs, sure, and from what I've seen from the spring game, we can be decent. But our bread and butter is being better than decent, more like exceptional. It should be interesting to watch this develop going into the fall.

After watching the spring game I think it will be a crap shoot of who will emerge in the back field, but I have a hunch wisham will have more carries than smith.
We haven't had a back who "was the man" in a long time. We've been a backfield by committee for a long time but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Smith will have his moments but I like using him more like Calais so he doesn't have to take that pounding inside the tackles all game. Obviously, the key is getting newcomers to be productive but we seem to have some good talent there.

Smith is a better RB than Calais, and can handle the inside running. I wasn't a fan of the RB committee, but it has grown on me. Of course it helps with the stable we have had in the past, but having a fresh RB in there all the time definitely has helped the team out.

I don't expect our running game to be as productive Day 1, but once the others get experience, I believe it will be top notch, once again.

Our running game will be just as good. It will look different, that’s for sure, but the production will not drop off.

We have worried about our running game since Bustle.

    Fenroy/Des
    Harris/McGuire
    Ragas/Mitchell/Calais
    Ragas/Mitchell/Smith

The point is,we are absolutely loaded at RB and our OL is the strength of this team. We don’t have anything to worry about there.

Our biggest issue is our terrible passing game and the schemes within the passing game.

We have every returning OL starter returning. We have good young depth behind them in Brown, Thomas, Harrington and Fiaiola. If all our RBs are healthy, this will be the deepest and most talented the position it has been going in to fall period in my memory. I expect great competition at the RB position and with a little game experience, I expect our running game to be just as good in conference as last season. BTW, the staff believe Johnson is special.

    RB Group

    Chris Smith
    Emani Bailey
    TJ Wisham
    Montrell Johnson
    Kendrell Williams
    Dre'lyn Washington

Going to interesting where Terrence Williams ends up at RB or LB. some on the staff has compared him to Devon White at LB

Peterson and Mcgriff looked great at Highschool and JUCO levels. Both fit that Manac/ McCaskill mold

that Alabama State’ transfer is who I'm most intrigued about
