Regardless of who is on the bump we need to score early and cant give up 3 or 4 in the first few innings. To me that means we pitch Cooke.

I know you have to win them all but there's no room for error. You do what you have to do to win the first and I think Cooke is the guy to do it. I don't think there's a wrong answer though. I'd trust either guy to get it done. I also do not have the info to judge how each guy matches up with App's bats, which is a large portion of the formula.
Arrighetti just has not been the same dominant guy as he was in the first half of the season. Last 5 starts, ERA is 6.33 (granted a lot is skewed on a 9 ER game vs TXST-if you exclude its closer to 3.33.) Just 2 of 5 were Quality Starts (6+ IP, < 3ER.) Every start he made before that was a QS. I think I'd rather give him an extra day if anything
Cooke in his last 5, ERA is 2.02, he's given up 4 hits or fewer in all of those and all 5 were Quality Starts. He hasn't shown an effect on 1 day fewer when he's had to do it so far.
You guys all make good points. Spencer seems to me to be a guy that thrives in big moments and when coach hands him the ball with confidence. His best outings this season are against our best competition.
Best case scenario, we score a ton of runs in the first two innings, pull Cooke and have him available for the weekend.
If anyone is heading up to Montgomery today Baton Rouge Hammond and Slidell is miserable traffic wise. Gross
My assumption is that the Cajuns will be the home team tonight ... as they were the road team in their opening pool game. App State was the home team in their opening pool game.

THAT’s how you start a game. 7 pitch inning following by a lead of homer!
So much for this Ap Cat being unhittable. Way to go Ozzy.
