It’s silly to me cause they have been careful with him this year cause of his past injury. He’s one of our better arms so instead of saving him for a meaningful game, you’re gonna waste 3 innings on him for a game that doesn’t matter and then hope to have him available in 4 days? I don’t know maybe I haven’t paid attention as much as I thought

I think there needs to be a balance between a meaningless game and “don’t care if we lose”

To make it simple, here's the "effective" bracket. There are other games being played which don't matter, but this is effectively where we are. A single elimination bracket with 8 teams.

I think I'd feel better about our chances in a double elimination where we can churn out arm after arm and feel good later in the tournament. Here, if you have one bad inning, you can be done. Decisions like leaving a pitcher in during a jam vs making a change if that pitcher doesn't make the key out will be magnified in a single elimination game.

So we are hoping for, obviously our win vs APP State and a Georgia State win over Georgia Southern, as Georgia State is not as deep, nor as good as Georgia Southern.

Tomorrow, App is probably pitching their Friday lefty, Tyler Tuthill, who has a 1.30 ERA in his last 5 outings.
