If Cajuns end up playing in one of these meaningless exhibition games I hope that they don’t waste ANY quality pitchers in an attempt to win.

Let me give a little background on the tournament.
When it was decided to cut the schedule to 24 games for this year and put in a couple of bye weeks, it was voted on to have eight teams in the tournament, two groups of four and play a round robin. You would play three games in four days. The top two teams in each group would advance to the semifinals. The reasoning behind the round robin was with only 24 games there would be a large disparity in conference schedules for each team.
It actually made some sense, although there was a probability there might be some meaningless games.
But then COVID happened. There was a possibility many series would have to be canceled because of COVID and that might make it unfair to some schools. (In retrospect, there was only one series lost, that being App and Coastal.) So, they decided to invite all 12 teams and the result of that is what we have.
As of now, we are going back to 30 league games next year and back to the format we had for 2017-19 with ten teams participating.
Just an observation and kind of thrown in question.....so the teams are picked and placed per season record and results.....what sport gives or has allowed the worst to beat the best in a tourney/ post season play.....football basketball baseball softball???

Thank you for the stats, WCD35!
So called Pitcher of the Year is getting lit up by Coastal. 5-0 in the 3rd.
What is the breakdown for scenarios that Cajun fans will need to watch, ie who are we pulling for/against in this “pool” format?
Arnold is pulled after 3 innings after 65 pitches.
Not sure exactly. Some are pulling for Texas State tonight to win in extra, extra innings.
