3 teams play each other. Win 2 and advance to semis. We are the high seed so win the tie breaker. So we win one we’re in..... just learning this myself. Haha

Not exactly. We need to win the correct game. The correct game would be the game against the winner of Tuesday’s App State - Texas State game. The other game ... we can start Turbine on the hill.

And again, this is not a pool format. It is single elimination with exhibition games thrown in to make it look like a pool format.

Is there any plausible reason not to convert the “pool play” section of this tournament to single elimination where the two lower seeds play first and the high seed plays the winner to advance?

I like the fact that South Alabama has Little Rock, who swept them in the regular season, and Coastal Carolina, who has a chance to redeem themselves for an un-Coastal Carolina-like season, in their pool.
