Scouting the Enemy
Even though Texas State was picked to win the Sun Belt West Division at the beginning of the year, it did not place a player on the Preseason Sun Belt Baseball team. Texas State has had trouble hitting this year, ranking seventh in the conference in overall hitting and 10th in hitting during conference play.

Against Texas State
Louisiana owns a 22-16 record in the series against Texas State. The Ragin' Cajuns, however, have lost their last six matchups against the Bobcats.

Double Trouble
Louisiana currently leads the Sun Belt Conference in total doubles with 78. The Ragin' Cajuns' doubles leader, Ben Fitzgerald, is second in the conference with 14 doubles. Drake Osborn and Carson Roccaforte recently entered the double-digit mark in that category and have 10 doubles each.

Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List
Spencer Arrighetti was named to the USA Baseball 2021 Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List earlier this year. Arrighetti is one of 45 of the nation's top amateur players from the high school and college ranks to be selected for the prestigious honor. He is also just the fifth Ragin' Cajun to appear on the list since it was instituted in 2013, joining Caleb Adams (2014), Seth Harrison (2014), Blake Trahan (2015) and Gunner Leger (2017).

Full Capacity
Louisiana Athletics is excited to announced that M.L. 'Tigue' Moore Field at Russo Park is now at 100% capacity and open to all fans. Single game tickets are available at the ticket booth on gamedays, which opens one hour before first pitch.
