Which school has the $20 steak vs $100? Compare UL to ULM golf. Their golf team participated in 5 of the 8 tournaments we played in and beat UL in every one except our tournament. Then ULM finished 3rd to our 8th in the SBC Championship tournament beating us by 16 strokes!

So we are the $20 steak. Sad state for UL athletics. On top of that, we lose to ULM tonight in baseball.

If that is correct, how does ULM, with the smallest budget in all of FBS, pay a higher salary than UL? Does that make us the lowest paid golf coach in the SBC? UL needs to correct that.

Our golf coach makes 57k according to the last approved contract. Once again is it worth paying more for a sport that will never generate revenue.

Not only that, but the people that gave the money to build the facility at Oakbourne and other items for the golf team gave it because of Theo. If they are happy with their return, so be it. It is amazing how people try to find something to be unhappy or mad about.

Is it really amazing that people are unhappy with an eighth place finish? I think it's normal.

No one should be happy with those results but I don't think most really care what the golf team does . I much rather use the 100k to fire Bob Marlin than paying a new coach coach 150k.

No, I am not happy with the 8th place finish but I am also not the one paying for the program.

The school had this "doesn't matter" attitude with women's basketball for decades.

I was glad when J. Kelley Hall showed it "could" matter.

Again, I am not saying we shouldn't be doing better but what if firing the coach runs off all the donors? Who is going to pay for it? We are running in the red as it is. Just my 1 cent that I am sure most don't agree with me and I am fine with that.
