I heard Glasco on the radio yesterday concerning Dalton and O'Neal. He said it's doubtful they will return. If they do, he said 2 to 3 weeks at the earliest I think.

You almost have to liken it to the 2018 team, when Coach Glasco took over and was left without his best power hitter(s). I remember us questioning the aggressiveness on the base paths that season, but we damn near took out LSU at their Regional, and we were aggressive that weekend. We forced them into an error in the Bottom of the 8th that led to the game winning run to force an IF game.

I think we're finding ourselves in a similar situation where our best hitters, especially power, are unavailable and we are going to have to manufacture runs somewhere down the stretch.

So when we face these SEC/Big 12 teams with elite pitching, and we're down a best hitter or two, we should just sit back and hope we someone get walked or stumble into a string of hits?

I'd rather we be aggressive, and hopefully learn how to do it now before Regionals.

Being down our best hitter, or two , or three is an excuse is what I was told, lol. Anyway hopefully this week we will working on getting bunts down, fielding bunts, and cleaning up bone headed base running.

O'Neal will probably take advantage of the medical red shirt. The big question is after the season is over will O'Neal and Talley even come back?

Why don't you think Talley will come back?

It isn't that I think she will not come back, but she may want to move on in life as she will graduate. She will still have 2 years of eligibility left if she wants to keep playing. I hope she comes back.

In 29 games. I will take these stats all day long. Just curious what stats did you expect her to have after 29 games?
Player of the year stats that we are accustom to. Do you really feel that she is having a Dalton of old year. She doesn't have the mobility she had last couple of years. I'm not saying she is a bust but she's not playing to the standard she has the last couple of years. Now if you feel my observation of her is a knock on her and what she has accomplished here I'm telling you you're wrong with that assessment.

Never said nor do I feel like you were knocking her. Her stats are comparable to previous years stats after 29 games. You say she doesn't have the mobility but she has stole 8 bases and only has 4 errors. What I think you are trying to say is you feel that if she should would have been in better shape her numbers may be even better than what they are?

Big innings happen against top competition too, and it can snowball after miscues. Yes with better teams it is tougher, it just means you have to execute better. If your best pitcher is a rise ball pitcher and you are facing a HR hitting team in a series, you still throw that pitcher and she needs to be more precise with her pitching.

I fully support Glasco being aggressive and putting pressure on other teams. It is a long term plus, IMO. However, he needs to be more precise against really good teams when pushing that aggressiveness. It is definitely not a full stop, because that puts zero pressure on them.
