Sorry for the rant - I quit because I made some calls that on film proved to be wrong and affected important games. Thirty years later, I still perfectly recall every detail. Think of the refs tat brutally missed the Saints call in the platoon a couple years ago - has to be tough to handle with the film on national TV.
2 wins, a split or 2 loses and we will still move up in RPI. I would like a split but at the end of the day we need to see what Lamb can do on the road under pressure. I am not the coach and we will see what Glasco does today. He may start Summer just because they really didn't do much after she settled down. If I am the coach I start Lamb.
This is where people have differing opinions, and there is validity to both:
Opinion 1: Start Summer, she is our best chance to win today. If we win today, it helps our RPI the most, thereby helping us with post season seeding (even if it doesn't help hosting a regional). Better post season seeding can make getting to OKC easier and then anything can happen in the WCWS.
Opinion 2: Start Kendra because we need to get her that experience if we want a chance to get to OKC. Yes, we can maybe ride Summer to OKC, but extremely difficult. With two consistent, seasoned, good pitchers, odds are exponentially better.
Both could work, both could fail. This is what makes sports, coaching and fan boards interesting.
