Somehow, I've never been to Max's Pool Hall and Mandez.... Going to have to try both soon

I haven't eaten at Mandez's but I've ordered through Waitr. It's Ok but I just don't see what the fuss is all about.

I haven't eaten at Mandez's either; however, I will say that a burger is something I don't think can best be enjoyed after riding in a vehicle for a while. Certainly not a good, non-fast food burger. Maybe that's just me. I feel the same way about a steak and buffalo wings as well.

I'd give Mandez's another shot at the place itself, a chance to enjoy that burger fresh off the grill.

ETA: I used to order Max's burgers to pick up and eat at home when I lived in Lafayette, but my apartment was about half a mile down the road.
