Louisiana Baseball fell in its first game of its weekend series at Little Rock, 8-2, at Gary Hogan Field on Friday afternoon.

Offensively, Louisiana was led by Brett Borgogno and CJ Willis. Borgogno collected his second home run of the season, a solo shot to left field, and Willis went 2-for-4 on the afternoon and has now claimed a hit in five of six games.

This is Matt Deggs’ team. Look at the turnover in roster over the last 2 years. Yes, there are a few guys that came here to play for Tony on this squad, but all of them are pitchers and thats about 5-6 guys.

This has nothing to do with Tony. It has everything to do with JT recruiting mechanics over mentality, the kind of team we’re trying to build and the analytical way that Deggs’ and JT coach. Wells (a Tony hire) has been brushed aside. BJ is a figure head. The guys feel alienated and no one knows what the fûck is going on day to day.

No trust, no room for negotiation, no individual thought allowed. These ____ing guys micro manage every aspect of the game from start to finish.

Without a doubt this is Deggs' team, but you cannot gloss over Robe's last 3 years:

2019: 28-31
2018: 34-25
2017: 35-21-1

The program results were declining. I have every confidence that Robe would have turned it around, and I have every confidence that Deggs' teams will continue to improve.

This team is lost. Period. Everyone looking at each other for answers as to why decisions are being made. To some degree i cant disagree with them. We will again have lots of turnover after this year...voluntarily or involuntarily.

Agree 100%. For Deggs to be successful, he HAS to make this his team. In order to do that, he has to purge all things “well, Robe would have done it this way”. Ask anyone that followed a legend, it’s a big shadow. A few posters get defensive when it’s pointed out Robe had 3 years of decline, and of course, blamed everyone and everything but the head decision maker. I’m sure Robe would be unhappy folks haven’t moved on, which is what we need to do. New coach, new look. Won’t happen overnight.
