A few years ago Louisiana had the valedictorian from every single school in a certain circumference enroll here. I wish I could find the story.

I remember seeing something about that . . . and I know a few smart kids who enrolled and did well here.

The dual enrollment program is paying off. R1 Status is a booster.

It helps that the winning football program the last few years helped get the schools name out there.

When a potential high school senior hears about Louisiana's R1 status they don't have to say ... "Who?"

Sorry Turbine but football success is not driving kids to coming to school here.

Smart kids will go anywhere that has a quality degree program for which they are interested in.
