  1. UL Baseball Baseball is/was getting awfully close to "2 before 1"

Baseball is getting awfully close to "2, before 1"

... On the season, just sayin.

No doubt. I mentioned this on Friday to some friends.

I think I understand, but explain. Is that the standard for an excellent team in college baseball?
So if you always win 2 and only lose 1 then you can go far very far being that tourney time is double elimination and of course winning every series.

    10 before 5, 20 before 10, 40 before 20. Someone once said that

A special man who said that. I think he would be proud of this team.

Basically, winning 2/3 of your games is playing successfully in baseball. I think we need to win the next 2 to be at that level. That would put us at 22 and 11. Have to win today before we can think of winning 2.

The theory that Robe subscribed to is the best and worst teams win 1/3 and lose 1/3 of their games. What happens to the last 1/3 makes your season.

I had no idea he picked that up from Robe

Maybe we get there next week. Sweep doesn't look to be in order today.

Edit: Sweep is definitely not in order. A day after CC's gem, ASU hangs16 on us.

11 runs should win every game.

    Right now they are...

    4-0
    6-1
    8-2
    10-3

    ...away from two before one.

That loss today was a RPI killer just like any other loss will be for the rest of season. I really think we need to win the tourney to get in.

A loss is a loss. If you made this loss to Arkansas State a win and made one of the Coast Carolina wins (or the TCU win) a loss, it would amount to the same regarding the RPI.

It is the weak SOS down the stretch that is the killer.

I would like to see us treating these games as must wins ... rather than treating them as "development" opportunities. Throw your best at the opposition and seize the momentum early in the game. Then if you build a comfortable lead, you have the luxury to develop some players/pitchers.
