A five-year-old child was killed Friday night in a single car accident in Delcambre.
The vehicle, a Nissan, went in the ditch at the corner of St. Elmo and Main Street on the south/west end of Delcambre at around 8:30 p.m. The child was a passenger in the Nissan.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they began giving the child CPR. The child was taken to Abbeville General Hospital by Acadian Ambulance, where the child was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later.
