LOUISIANA La. — Senior Ragin’ Cajun cross country runner Natalie Gillis was awarded Sun Belt Conference women’s runner of the week for her third place finish at the LSU Invitational this past weekend.

The Prairieville native finished just 10 seconds out of first place with a time of 22:42.90 in the 6K race from Highland Road Park in Baton Rouge.

It was her second top ten finish in two races after finishing sixth at the Ragin’ Cajun Invitational the previous week.

“Natalie has been running really well and had a real positive attitude going into the LSU meet,” coach Tim Lemaire said. “She gained a lot of confidence from this race and the best is yet to come from her over the next few weeks.”

Gillis will compete in her third race of the season when the Ragin’ Cajuns travel to Natchitoches for the NSU Invitational on Monday, Oct. 6.
