Bomb Squad
Connor Kimple and Ben Fitzgerald smashed back-to-back home runs in Tuesday night's game against Nicholls State, becoming the first Cajun duo to do that since Orynn Veillon and Handsome Monica did so against Louisiana State on April 16, 2019. Kimple and Fitzgerald have combined to hit eight of Louisiana's 15 home runs on the year.
ERA Leaders
Louisiana's pitching has been sharp all season. The Ragin' Cajuns currently lead the Sun Belt Conference in team ERA (3.65) and total strikeouts (172).
B33N Fitzgerald
Louisiana's Ben Fitzgerald is one of the hottest hitters in the conference, ranking in the top 10 in batting average (.344), slugging (.656), on-base percentage (.437), doubles (7) and home runs (5).
Swipers
The Louisiana Baseball team has been stealing bases at an incredible clip this season, ranking seventh in the entire NCAA in bags swiped with 33. Tyler Robertson is the team's leader in steals with nine, which ranks 11th in the NCAA.
Spaghetti with a side of revenge
Louisiana starter Spencer Arrighetti will pitch against his former team on Friday night. The former Horned Frog is currently one of 16 pitchers in the NCAA who has a sub-1.00 ERA and has pitched in 20.0 or more innings on the year.
Scouting the enemy
TCU will throw Russell Smith on Friday night, a 6'9" lefty who will be making his 20th start with the program. Saturday's starter, Austin Krob, has powerful stuff and was listed as the 33rd-best pro prospect by D1Baseball to start the year.
Against TCU
Louisiana owns a 3-2 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools. The last matchup against the Horned Frogs came in 2016 at Minute Maid Park, when the Cajuns fell 7-1.
