Big men won game. Julien was big. Need him to continue to contribute. Hope the guards are useful tomorrow
So it is Cajuns vs Panthers at 5 pm Sunday.
They all did a good job on defense today. No one has frustrated Flowers like that in the league this year according to some people I talked to. Agree it would be a little stressful on the heart if they did not wait until second half to start actually making some perimeter shots. First half looked sloppy but that was because of the shooting problems. When you struggle making shots, every mistake is magnified. Frustrating part was that every shot was open and some were great looks. Those problems are one reason I was and am still somewhat pessimistic about winning the tournament. Out perimeter shooting is way too inconsistent. Effort was good today, actually better than good most of day. Effort is not enough however. You need to be efficient with that effort. That happened in second half. Agree Kobe can be a difference maker. Wonder how his knee will hold up in back to back games and hopefully three games.
What we saw in the 2nd half is why so many basketball fans are frustrated with this years particular team. They can be really good. They have good talent, have good depth and play hard, but inconsistent is best used to describe them most of the time. it was good to see their potential be unleashed for a few minutes. hope to see a lot more in this tournament. Yes, Julian makes a huge difference.
Watching Kobe run the floor, especially the second half, is what we all expected to see. With so many parts returning next year, fully expect Marlin to deliver both championships next year. At times you could see Wilson and Julien getting comfortable with each other during the big run. Been concerned Wilson would opt out or portal out, but they had fun today. Chemistry is there
