UL Basketball MBB: Louisiana To Face South Alabama In SBC Quarterfinals

Cajuns will play South Alabama as expected in the quarterfinals. Jags beat ULM 80 to 72 today it what was a competitive game. ULM actually led by 8 with 9 minutes to go. With 7 minutes to go, USA had the lead which they never relinquished. Big run by Jags was fueled by Michael Flowers who had 9 straight points and finished with 34. Senior guard is one of the best players in the league. Earlier this week, Jay Walker was on with Scott Prather and mentioned that Flowers is a tough matchup for us due to his extreme quickness. Jay believes the Jags have as much overall talent as the Cajuns and in fact may have more. Now I did notice that USA only played 7 guys. Who knows if that will be a factor tomorrow. Sometimes the team that most recently played gets into a rhythm quickly enabling them to get off to a quick start. Cajuns have to make some shots themselves to be successful and Theo Awkuba must play well for them to win. Of course what I just mentioned was important for them to do in every game this season.
