Question for people that are at the games-what is the atmosphere like? Is section A spilt between ticket packages? I still hear them finishing “sweet Caroline” every home game. Seems like they’ve got a full complement of voices.

I like our baseball tv announcers. Best I've heard calling our games.

Ever since 1999 this series has meant a big deal to me.

I really like Arrighetti as a starter but he completely has a closer’s demeanor

Why does UL report scores as

    Louisiana Athletics 5 Rice 3

  12. UL Baseball Ragin’ Cajuns Earn, 5-3, Win Over Rice on Saturday

The Louisiana Baseball team won its second game of the weekend by beating Rice, 5-3, at M.L. 'Tigue' Moore Field at Russo Park.

Carson Roccaforte continued his hot streak at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two doubles, a walk and two runs scored. Roccaforte now has 11 hits on the year, the most on the team.

Bobby Lada shined in his first start at shortstop for Louisiana in Saturday's game, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double.

Like the first game in the series, Louisiana jumped out to another early lead when Lada singled home Roccaforte in the second inning.

Jonathan Brandon added to Louisiana's lead in the third, scoring on a wild pitch by Blake Brogdon (0-1), Saturday's losing pitcher.

Rice gained a lead in the top of the fourth inning, tagging David Christie for three runs.

Louisiana matched Rice's three runs with three of its own in the bottom of the fourth thanks to back-to-back RBI-doubles from Lada and Nick Hagedorn. Hagedorn later scored in the inning, making the game, 5-3, in favor of Louisiana.

Following Hagedorn scoring on a wild pitch, Louisiana blanked the Owls for the remainder of the game.

Jason Nelson (1-0) logged two innings of work, while Conor Angel and Spencer Arrighetti threw in the contest as well. Even though Arrighetti started on Tuesday night, he made an appearance in Saturday's game and earned his first save of the year.

Louisiana will look to sweep Rice on Sunday afternoon with first pitch coming at 1 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and can be heard on KPEL 96.5FM.

  13. UL Baseball Louisiana Earns Sweep Against Rice in 6-3 Win

Louisiana Baseball bested Rice 6-3, on Sunday afternoon at M.L. 'Tigue' Moore Field at Russo Park, giving the team its first non-conference sweep since it took three from Saint Peter's in 2017.

Carson Roccaforte added two more base hits on the day, keeping his average at .500 on the year (13-for-26).

Similar to his first outing against Rice, Carter Robinson cruised past Owls hitters. Robinson has now twirled 11.1 innings against the Owls, while only surrendering one earned run and fanning 11 batters.

Rice jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the contest. The Owls capitalized on a throwing error which wasn't charged to toady's starter, Robinson (1-0).

Robinson was sharp on the afternoon, tossing 5.1 innings, giving up zero earned runs and punching out four batters.

Louisiana had trouble hitting Roel Garcia for the first four innings of the contest, striking out eight times to the Owls starting pitcher.

When Rice went to its bullpen, Tyler Robertson gave Louisiana the lead in the fifth inning, smashing his second home run of the weekend, a two-run bomb off of Brandon Deskins (0-1).

Louisiana posted three-consecutive two-run innings from the fifth frame to the seventh frame.

In the sixth inning, Josh Cofield tagged Rice with a pinch-hit RBI-single through the right side of the infield scoring Drake Osborn. Robertson came up later in the inning and ripped a single to left field giving Louisiana a 4-1 advantage.

Louisiana wasn't done in the seventh inning and used a Bobby Lada double, his second of the weekend, and Drake Osborn sacrifice fly to make the game 6-1.

Rice hit a two-run home run in the top of the eighth off Will Moriarty, who was making his first appearance of the season.

The Owls' comeback effort wasn't enough as the Ragin' Cajuns used perfect innings from Jeff Wilson and Jacob Schultz (S, 1) to close out the game with a final score of 6-3.

Louisiana is back in action on Tuesday as it host Louisiana Tech for a 6:00 p.m. matchup.
