A road, season opening series win against a good, in state program = me happy!

It feels like it’s been a while since we won an opening series. Especially on the road.

Tulane is always a solid ball club. This was impressive. Both teams fought tooth and nail all weekend. Could have gone either way.

The first announcer was very complimentary of the Cajuns; the second is their home team guy.

I thought both announcers were very complimentary of our program. The regular play by play guy just used ULL and Louisiana Lafayette. I even heard him say just Louisiana a few times yesterday. No in state school will ever accept that we are “Louisiana “ especially the school who was originally the U of L. In the grand scheme of things it doesn’t mean Jack. We have won the name battle

We were called the most important name there is after the series ended, "Winner". On another front I reviewed their board yesterday evening. It is unbelievable to me that many are advocating for a change in coaches if the Green Wave don't make a regional. That is somewhat because they feel it is "unacceptable" to be defeated by the Cajuns. What makes that difficult to understand is the fact they only lost two games in 2020. More evidence that virtually ALL fans overrate the standing of their school. Fortunately our football program is one of the few able to reach what we believe our potential to be.
