    Hard to see but I think it was "one" out front on skates, and the rest playing on ice in the background.

    The two-page spread photo of frozen Cypress Lake was in the Jan. 26, 1962 issue of Life Magazine: https://rb.gy/lai42m. Scroll down a few pages to see photo on pp. 2-3 with the title "A SUDDEN ICE RINK DEEP IN DIXIE" at lower right.

    At the time, a stray black dog nicknamed "Inky" had roamed the campus for a few weeks. I recall Inky walking on the ice and barking at the fish he could see through it. (My age is revealed by the fact that I graduated from USL that semester.)
