Louisiana Women's Basketball will be playing for its program-record 10th-straight win on Thursday afternoon when it welcomes in-state foe ULM to the CAJUNDOME. Tipoff is slated for 3 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN+ and ESPN1420 AM.
Currently on the longest in-conference winning streak in program history with nine consecutive victories, the Ragin' Cajuns (10-5, 9-1 Sun Belt) are also looking for their 13th-straight win over the Warhawks, a streak that dates back to Feb. 12, 2015.
The team has already gotten a game in this week, defeating UT Arlington, 57-48, on Monday, Feb. 8. With that victory, Louisiana distanced itself atop the Sun Belt Conference West Division standings and matched its previously long winning streak set during the 1987-88 standings.
Senior Ty'Reona Doucet led the way against the Lady Mavs, scoring a season-high 21 points and a team-best eight rebounds. Doucet currently leads the team in scoring (11.6 ppg) and rebounding (8.7), while her 54.1 shooting percentage is the best in the Sun Belt and ranked 31st nationally.
Skyler Goodwin and Brandi Williams continue to be constants in the offense, averaging 11.3 points and 11.0 points per contest, respectively.
Louisiana has found a tremendous amount of success on its home floor this year, boasting a 6-1 overall record and a 5-0 record in league play at the CAJUNDOME. In that stretch, the team is averaging 66.9 points per contest.
ULM (2-14, 0-12) is still searching for its first win in league play after dropping a weekend series at home to UTA. The Warhawks are scoring 44.7 points per contest in conference play while allowing 67.8 points per game.
Kierra Brimzy is the team's leading scorer and the only Warhawk averaging in double figures at 13.4 points per contest, while Kierra Crockett leads the way on the glass with 8.9 boards per game.
Louisiana and ULM will be meeting for the 63rd time on Thursday afternoon, with the Warhawks leading the all-time series, 43-19. However, under head coach Garry Brodhead, the Ragin' Cajuns are 13-4 against ULM and are 5-3 against the Warhawks at home in the Brodhead era.
