It's like baseball, it happens every spring. 4th and 8th graders are gearing up for the leap test. The test is extremely important for 8th graders because if they don't pass it, they don't move on to high school.
The students will be tested on four core subjects, math, English, language arts, and science. Schools like Scott middle are helping students prepare by offering tutoring during school hours. The students get the chance to work in small groups and one on one with the teachers to make sure they're grasping what they need to know for the leap. "We're geared up and ready for it. We are in fact a geared up school. We're excited about the test and the opportunity to show the parents and the community what we at Scott middle school can do," said Principal John Pate.
The leap test will be administered over four days. The first part of the test is writing. It will begin next Tuesday, March 23rd. The rest of the test will take place April 12th, and end on April 16th. Students will find out their results on May 18th.
