LOUISIANA - For the first time in 52 days, Louisiana Women's Basketball will compete on its home floor when it welcomes Texas State to the CAJUNDOME for a two-game series on Friday, Jan. 29, and Saturday, Jan. 30. The games tip at 6 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively, and will be broadcast on ESPN+ and ESPN1420 AM.

Although the team hasn't played at home since defeating McNeese on Dec. 9, 2020, the Ragin' Cajuns (5-5, 4-1 Sun Belt) have found success recently and will put their four-game winning streak on the line when their first contest against the Bobcats begins.

Louisiana is coming off a successful return to play after it swept its three games in Arkansas over the past weekend. With the victories, the team jumped its way into first in the West Division standings entering the weekend.

Senior Skyler Goodwin played a huge role over the last three contests, averaging 14.0 points and 6.7 rebounds in the Natural State. Goodwin, who has given Louisiana 11.0 points per game overall, is one of three Ragin' Cajuns averaging in double figures on the year, joining Brandi Williams (13.3 ppg) and Ty'Reona Doucet (10.6).

Doucet is also looking to make history this weekend, needing 11 points to become the program's 19th 1,000-point scorer and three blocks from becoming the third player in program history to post 100 swats in their career.

Texas State (6-5, 3-3 Sun Belt) heads to Lafayette with two-straight wins after sweeping ULM in San Marcos. The Bobcats will be playing on the road for seventh and eighth time this season, owning a 2-4 record away from home.

Da'Nasia Hood leads the Bobcats on offense with 17.4 points and 8.2 rebounds in 11 starts, with Lauryn Thompson (11.8 ppg) and Kennedy Taylor (11.2 ppg) also contributing for Texas State.

The two programs will be meeting for the 22nd and 23rd time this season, with the all-time series tied at 11-11. Louisiana has won three of the last four meetings after the program's split their first meeting in San Marcos.

Louisiana is 9-20 record in league home openers, but has won its last two instances. Additionally, the team owns a 5-3 in such games during the Garry Brodhead era.
