I stand corrected. By the time Sulphur went back to the Dome; he’d left for MSU. But from 1995 - 1998; Sulphur was a force in 5A.

I've not seen Billy Napier referred to as BN enough to get it instantaneously.

I still have to think about it a second or two, but my times are coming way down.

Great hire - regardless of role.

Can someone help me understand what an advance scout does?

The advance scout is responsible for watching the opponent, diagramming all their plays, knowing their calls, knowing their side out of bounds plays and end of game plays. Then you report back to the coaching staff and suggest a game plan on how to win that game. The advance scout specializes in the knowledge of the game.

Good description of the advance scout role provided by Granttvb. As he said, experienced coaches can thrive in that role due to the knowledge they have gained through the years. Coach Viator will also be involved in recruiting evaluations. Analysts are not allowed to officially recruit. However they can provide opinions as to how certain players will fit into our system and their future potential. As far as his pay is concerned, it won't be near what he was making at ULM. People in his role barely make minimum wage. That is OK for Coach Viator as he is now "retired".
