I have been going to Cajun baseball games since Bolanger was the coach and you could bring ice chest of beer to the bleachers. My spot on the totem pole dropped 19 spots after deadline passed and was never informed of an extension. Probably would not have increased donation, but I expect and demand to be updated on something that affects game attendance. Our concierge told me it could take 2 weeks to get the call.
Lets call it strike one!!
My first game was in 1979, 41 years ago. Yes I am 85 years old. Lawn chairs and 6 pack cooler, top row below the press box, and I may say a grand total of 50-60 fans. But that top row had the makings of the dirty dozen and a half. Season ticket holder for 39 of those 41 years. Not a big time contributor to the RCAF, but none the less a contributor. Now I am kicked to the curb. So now I am looking forward to the 2022 season. God only knows.
I actually just looked it up (damn the internet is a great thing). My first ever U(s)L baseball game was March 28, 1989 vs LSU @ Tigue Moore Field. The game was sold out and a buddy of mine and I stood in the outfield on a plank with a cooler of beer, that was the only seats left. We lost 4-1 in that game, but it was one heck of a game until the end.
I was hooked ever since.
Anyone get the call since Monday/Tuesday this week?
