I just watched the ULM video and I am happy for them. I will never condemn someone for trying to better themselves and they are going for it!

To compare a school with a $100+ million annual budget to one with a $10 million budget is silly. ULM did good with this hire and I look forward to the challenge ahead.

Just thinking out loud but how did ULM afford TB and RR? Are those two getting paid by other universities in a structured buy out from previous jobs which allows them to accept a much much lower salary than there used to or are they just willing to take anything that comes along just to stay in coaching?

Bowden was an unpaid analyst at Clemson, if I recall...RR is probably flush with cash...and, contract may include a bunch of items that may take the place of cash..car, insurance, housing, etc...

Terry spoke about it during his introduction talk; he is still making money from previous jobs; probably Rich is as well.

If they have handled their money correctly, in theory, they could work for very little and be OK.

Of course those personalities and their history with each other makes for great chemistry to watch. The buzz in Monroe should be off the charts. also nice to have the staff in place enough to get them involved. Most of these happen so soon, the staff is not in place yet. what I like about older coaches who have had success in the past is their willingness to be open and honest.
Great hires but will anyone really care if they don't start winning and quickly.

Yes, Terry touched on that, as well as the importance for Rich to be able to coach his son for the last 2 years of his college career. That in itself, Rich would have been willing to work for free( my words), however, he has one year left on his Arizona contract. so he still making good money for one more year. The stars aligned for ULM with this staff, and good for them to take full advantage. one thing that jumped out to me was Tim said this year was the first time in a long time the admin from ULM reached out to him for his input. I thought to myself, how strange, but im sure UL behaved the same way with some of our key alumni before Dr.Maggard arrived.

well, does anyone( fans and media) at any G5 care if the team is not winning? ULM has a huge uphill battle, their schedule the next 2 years does them no favors, they realistically could go 1-11 next season, but be an improved team. The Sun Belt maybe raising faster than ULM has time to play catch up. Time will tell. But at the moment, they are doing everything in their power to try. Thats all that can be asked of them.

.....Also in the equation is the ltur situation.....seems like Cusa just disintegrated and tech has not even risen to the top.....with Ulm being in the 2nd top g5 which seems to creep up every year, they might out recruit their twin in Ruston.....surely they will get some from ltur and I guess some maybe from us, but we are I think in the best shape ever as far as Louisiana college football is concerned!

Why are some so interested in a non rival program. I get never wanting to lose to them. It’s almost always a acid test of how weak you might be. Beating ULMost is rarely an example of your prowess.

Boomer is interested in all the in-state teams, so you have to give him a break.
