Not to defend LSU...but the reason why they dont play us (tulane) and the reason why we dont play you guys every year is because of the way conferences are now. Cusa and sec have 12 teams and NCAA requires that you play 8 of your conference teams....so that leaves somewhere between 2-4 open games depending on your schedule. ULL would have been a great fit for us instead of Nwstern st, but that was a makeup date from getting out of the georgia contract last year. Our other non-conference games were Texas (home-home contract), Miss St.(home-home), and Navy (home-home).
So out of 4 non-conf games, one was a last minute fill in..the rest were already decided due to previous contracts (not unlike ULL-Minn).
Do not flatter yourselves, we would love to play you guys home-home and hopefully it will come back, Do you guys really think we are scared to play ULL (our only losses were to tx and tcu, both top 20). Just like we would be delusional to think LSU wont play us because they are "scared."
It is all about money......you guys need to worry about getting a win and getting attendance up before it is too late. (for those of you who were so concerned about us a few months ago, we sold enough season tickets to fill NCAA requirments (~15000) and have averaged ~30000 per game, with homecomming at gormley sold out for next weekend (~35000)...
ULL needs to REALLY get out in lafayette and get people at the games (a la jake/brandon)...i must say, i'm happy to have been a student there during those times, because i dont see them returning any time soon.
