in the other thread of live game action where i think turbine was giving periodic score updates he was using LA.... i think UL is better. another post talked about consistency i believe. if we go too heavy into LA we will likely never be called UL, and opens the door for more LAfayette talk

how hard would it be to pursue having campus become a census designated place? im sure we have a higher population than these guys:

Notre Dame is a census-designated place[4] north of the city of South Bend in St. Joseph County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. It includes the campuses of three colleges: the University of Notre Dame, Saint Mary's College, and Holy Cross College. Notre Dame is split between Clay and Portage Townships. As of the 2010 census, its population was 5,973.[3]

Louisiana, Louisiana... “At Lafayette” forever banished from the picture or those who still called it that would seem dumb, “how can we be called lafayette if we arent in lafayette?” easy answer... they might have more acres but should go by people. doesnt campus still have its own post office?

“ The area may contain an easily recognizable institution, usually occupying a large land area, with an identity distinct from the surrounding community. This could apply to some college campuses and large military bases (or parts of a military base) that are not within the limits of any existing community, such as Notre Dame, Indiana, Stanford, California (which houses the Stanford University campus), Fort Campbell North, Kentucky, and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.[2]”

"They" may not call you UL, but they will call you Louisiana.

LA is the universal abbreviation for Louisiana, ask the post office.

When I'm doing scoring updates, spelling out LOUISIANA sometimes takes too long.

Never in history has LA been used for Lafayette. La. maybe. MAYBE.

    ps L.A. Los Angeles

No to LA as an abbreviation. We are UL! Let’s geaux embrace it together. This administration has done a better job of branding than any other before. We just need to own Louisiana and UL.
