FooteNotes with Gerald Broussard
Big schools all over the place offered Gerald out of high school. Some even offered cars...
But he was a Cajuns fan since he was little. I am so glad he chose us, Gerald is a class act, top to bottom. I remember when, as a poorly-paid coach, he would come out to the complex on the weekends and weed-eat the grounds.
And as a commentator, he's the best. His analysis is immediate, and in-depth (and incomprehensible to those of us who never played football, but I like it anyway).
He's funny as heck.
And if you don't live in south Louisiana, you can't understand a word he says. Cuts down on the scouting from other schools...

_———Wondering if you guys both had a broadcasting class at Lafayette High? Remembering back on favorite calls were Jay Walkers “Cajuns win etc” and Ron Gomes’s Bo‘Lamar from Fatima...Bingo” well something like that’ but what a description of distance.....I remember G’s describing a QB TD around end as opponents walked the 2 safeties up.... hearing the UL win in the Great Alaskan Shootout over G-town......Jay’s thoughts on Cajun baseball going to the CWS
He is a CAJUN CLASSIC. He is by far the best Color Man for Cajun Football
