Here we go again
Here we go again
And they have their man in Steve Sark
Pulling out all the stops to beat the cajuns
This will be interesting going into next season.
Things just got harder for us. Guess we’ll have to review his days before Alabama, as well as at Tuscaloosa.
Looks like it’s a dumpster fire in Austin.
Texas A.D. had reached out to urban Meyer about taking the job.
Herman caught wind of it and, According to the South Carolina A.D., contacted him about the job there. Said he wanted out of Texas
In the meantime, Myers says he doesn’t want the Texas job, so Texas A.D. gives Herman a vote of confidence.
Then I guess Texas found out about Herman‘s dealings and fired him.
This change of coaching all within one day? They wanted Herman gone but he wasn’t even sloppy seconds.
Interesting thought, Coach Napier to Bama as OC. Coach In Waiting after Saban? He’s got the ties to Saban.
Well, that answers that if true. :-p
Ah yes. You are right.my bad. I was just going off that he seemed older and was in skool at bama longer than prior two bama qbsafter further review he and the last two (now nfl) qbs are same age, but he has two years left. Go figure.
Now there are rumors Sark turned the job down. Texas is obnoxious enough to have boosters that will never allow 100% control over the team for a coach. I think we are safe. Other than OU on a good day, there is nothing there. When the SBC owns three of your members on ONE weekend, you suck.
Besides, what job in the Big 12 is more desirable than an SEC gig? None.
If anyone is worried, no Austin flights in or out Lafayette.

One of multiple reports of the turn down.

Texas will not win the the current Big 12. Texas A&M to the SEC has really hurt their recruiting.
The Big 12 should consider adding additional schools east of Texas. Definitely consider Memphis and UCF.
This opens up Big 12 exposure and recruiting grounds in the gulf states. Until this happens, Texas will always trail LSU, Texas A&M, Clemson and Alabama.
It's not the coach, it the current ceiling at Texas in the Big 12.
