Well, we now know Napier’s ask. 5 mil, autonomy in hiring staff, assistants’ pay in top 5%. Plus our buyout.

Very few programs will meet those requirements but someone will one day.

Interesting comments on the Auburn board. A lot really wanted Napier. Here is an interesting take on why he turned it down. They really like him now if this is the reason.

    Latest on Napier:

We’re told he pulled his name from consideration after he was offered limited flexibility on staff hires. Napier wanted full authority. It’s a ballsy move for a younger coach, but he’s not your normal young coach. His pedigree is outstanding and he also has that trailblazer attitude.

He’s the kind of guy who walks when he’s seen enough. He’s heard the chatter about Auburn’s political treachery, saw it with his own eyes with the staff edict and said: Nope, I’m good.

Interesting twist to say the least.

Someone also mentioned about an SI article about Napier. Said it was next level stuff about what he is doing here. Really good article according to the poster.

Maybe Auburn needs to take a look in the mirror and recognize that they're not God’s gift to football. Taking everything Napier has accomplished out of the picture....a Sun Belt coach turned down your job. It’s 2020 for sure.
