Thread: New SBC coaches

    UL Football New SBC coaches

I believe the SBC West will be much more competitive in the next few years. Arkansas State and S. Alabama appear to both be committed to upgrading their competitiveness with their new hires. And TxSt, although never quite coming up to snuff, has the facilities and money to compete.

I don't mean this as a slam at all, but I just don't see how ULM will be able to be competitive, much less thrive.

Good point about USA... Has there been any buzz or reviews of their new stadium?

I truly believe USA, Ark St, and Tx st. Make advances in the positive direction in regards of their record... Tx St was especially close last year to having a good season. They lost too many close games at the end... they should have won against SMU, UTSA, and BC.

Also the biggest separation in the sunbelt from the top teams to the bottom teams has been defense.... in our league Defense wins championships because most teams in our league have P5 scoring type offenses...if the D improves in our league we can overtake AAC as the best G5 conference... the sunbelt was the second best G5 conference this year and I don’t think it was even close between us and the mountain west.

For some reason, I think that the SBC can be the leader of the G5 but we need a commissioner that can take it to that level. It appears that the teams are committed to the conference. Well, almost everyone. We need a commissioner like we have in Dr. Maggard. We obviously don't have that now in our current SBC commissioner.
