    “PROBABLY”.
There are still a few openings that are coming his way....
I hope he is looking at bigger programs
    Alabama
    Florida State
    Texas
    even
    LSU

I think Steele is the frontrunner.

New reports are saying Napier is now the front runner

According to 247, Steele is still the frontrunner:

Per Auburn Undercover's hot board 5.0, Steele is a "Tier 1" candidate in the search, while Napier and Clark are at the top of tiers 2 and 3, respectively.
Never hurts to already have both feet in the door.

This goes with the territory. One day one of these jobs and the $$$'s will lure him away. I trust the current AD to have viable candidates on a short list to continue what Billy has built.

If Napier isn't the Auburn choice, he needs to stop the interviewing for now..one, it's a bad optic, two, he's already said, "moving forward at Louisiana". Enough already for this cycle...

What makes me mad about this is that he stated he was moving forward with Louisiana but now takes the Auburn interview... I want him to be honest and stop ____ing on my foot to tell me it is raining. If you are going to interview come out and say it and no one would be mad about it. I can’t stand when coaches do the coach speak and think that the fan bases are stupid. If he goes good for him plus his buyout is 4 mil so that’s money we can put towards coaches. I have a feeling he won’t get it, but he is def probably top 3 choice over there. Also if he does leave Steve Sark would be a good person to get a hold of because he is a really great offensive mind. At the end of the day I trust Maggard to make a home run hire.

I heard from an Auburn booster that Steele was “a lock.” However, if we recall , so was PSUs DC before Napier landed at LAF.

100% Agree.....If you are truly moving forward at Louisiana then do so and stop interviewing for every damn SEC job that opens.

I certainly think Napier can get a P5 job. However, I believe it will be difficult to get a top level P5 job first thing. Not always, but the top level schools tend to go with coordinators from other top level schools. People like Mahlzahn (sp?) and Freeze who have gone from G5 HC to P5 HC have usually had some association with that school before rejoining. Napier's only associations have been with Clemson, Alabama (neither of which will be open soon) and Arizona.

This is not to say, he couldn't land a job like Auburn, but the cards would have to fall just right to do so. I believe it much more likely that he will have to take a lower level P5 position first, do an outstanding job at that school, and then be in a position to move up.
