Because he went to Alabama
Because he went to Clemson
Because he went to Ohio state
Because he went to Oklahoma
Because he went to LSU
And so on and so on.....
Levi was the best qb I saw on our schedule this year. McCall was good but if Saturday would have happened Levi would have proved my point.
His accuracy and arm strength are better than most, and his escapability from pressure may be the best in the country.
Fans love the backup QB. Some love the other teams QB. Some just want a prototypical 6’3” + pocket passer. Some just aren’t ever happy, even during the best run in school history.
How many G5 QBs are better? I understand QBR is not definitive, but it is illustrative. According to ESPN, Lewis has the 10th highest rating of any G5 QBs. That's the measurables. It doesn't include the immeasurables like leadership, mobility, IQ, etc. Bottom line, is that there are few G5 QBs better, however you measure it,
..... escapability .... the old cliches of eyes on the side and back of his head fits this ability ...... deception by keeping the ball on both zone reads and bootleg type plays .... speed at least enough to get away from DL rushes ..... accuracy does worry me on short and deep routes but sometimes his velocity is surprising ....... intangibles he is the man. ...... size was questionable but he is and will be next year about 200 pounds of non fat player ........ Ws speak for themselves! Oh I forgot elusiveness that just makes people miss when he goes on a run (kinda McGuire like)!
Maggard is suppose to speaking at The Bayou Church Men’s Night the first Wednesday in January. Deggs, Robe and Hud did the same in the past, should be interesting.
Napier has as well. I was there.
