Today, troopers with Louisiana State Police Region 2 detectives arrested Lisa Broussard in reference to a disTurbinece that occurred on March 15, 2010, at 153 Paulette Lane in Crowley.
During the investigation troopers learned that Broussard drove to her mother's house which had burned in the early morning hours of March 15, 2010. When she arrived at the house she was approached by a relative, Rebecca Deville. Deville and Broussard got into a physical altercation while Broussard was still in the driver's seat of the vehicle. Broussard's vehicle was in reverse and during the altercation her foot came off of the brake causing the vehicle to travel backwards. Broussard's vehicle traveled over Deville then Broussard left the area. Broussard was driving erratically as she left the area. She was subsequently stopped by a state fire marshal, who was at the scene, and detained.
Troopers found no evidence to support the fact that Broussard intentionally ran over Deville. They did however find evidence that indicated Broussard was negligent in her acts. Based on their findings, troopers obtained a warrant for Broussard's arrest.
Shortly before 10:00 a.m. this morning, Broussard surrendered to troopers. She was booked into the Acadia Parish Correctional Center for one count of Reckless Operation and one count of Negligent Injuring. The case remains under investigation.
