Damn what are they luring these guys with? Plate lunches from Joey’s? Pop’s PO-boys?

Lamarius Benson played in 9 games on the OL for UCF in 2019. I don't se where he was on the 2020 roster for UCF at all, he may have opted out or just entered the transfer portal early and decided to sit out. He was a 3 star OL out of Covington, GA with offers from UCF, South Carolina, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Maryland and Troy.
Tyreese Jackson, joins a very crowded RB room from Colorado State. Jackson has not seen much action for CSU, he is Redshirt Freshman from Jeanerette, so he is "coming home". He played for Westgate in HS. He was a 3 star recruit who had offers from CSU, Prarie View A&M, South Al, Utah State, Houston, UL, McNeese, Memphis, Kansas, USM, Toledo, Tulane, Virginia and West Virginia.
Grid Isidore is an interesting prospect, he has moved around quite a bit. You stated he is from Lake Charles, but I am showing that he played at Salem HS in Slidell. He played JUCO ball at Tyler JUCU, but also was on the Nicholls roster and although he signed with Texas State in 2020, he never actually played there. According to his timeline, he committed to Stephen F Austin in 2016, in 2017 he was a member of the Nicholls "practice squad", in 2018 he is listed as having a total of 6 tackles for Nicholls including 4 solo tackles in 9 games played. In 2019 he played for Tyler Juco, I see very little information on him, he left Tyler in December of 2019 and can't find any information on him at Texas State, now he is at UL. Very well travelled young man. Out of HS he had offers from Nicholls and SFA. Out of JUCO he had looks from Texas State, Tulsa, UAPB, Austin Peay, Northwestern State and UNLV.
Regardless, all 3 of these guys had tons of interest from D-1, FCS and FBS schools. So we know they can play. Good luck to all 3 young men. Love the addition of Lamarius Benson to the OL. Again, if nothing else this is adding quality depth to a really good line. I believe Benson should have at least 2 years to play, Jackson 3 and Isidore possibly 1, although with all of his moving around it is hard to tell, looks like old Jonny English from Tulane in the 80's.
That's what Napier was just talking about. You offer a lot of youngsters in hopes of signing them, but, invariably, you know the "bigger schools" are going to sign a lot of them. But by offering, following them, and keeping tabs on them as they progress, some may find leaving Louisiana was not the best plan. Then, you have reopened the door to having them choosing you the second time around. Just hard work, dedication and showing them the same love you showed them the first time around helps them correct their mistakes and join the team like they should have done in the first place. Great job, coaches!!!
Another RB in this class! That makes six. I'm certain some of these guys will be moved to defensive side of the ball.
So, are these last 3 transfers counting against next year's class....paying their way for now? If this many guys are coming in, then who's leaving or left? Space for 85 on scholarship, and roster max at 105, right?
Last fall UL was moving some defensive linemen to offense. I wonder if this year some of these OL may be moved to the defensive line?
I'd be interested to read how UL is managing the roster. There are 29 new players and a hand full of Pwo's...
It will be interesting and very competitive!
