50% free throw shooting. Obviously not win many games with 50%. Has Marlin ever had a team shoot more than 70% free throws? There is no excuse for this.

Seem like maybe 3 or so years ago the team had the longest consecutive free throw streak in the country. Like 20 games or something. It was stupid crazy.

60+ rebounds? 3 players in double digit boards...

This is the first game this year the team has been under 70 percent at the line. Reason they won the UNO game was the free throw shooting. Here are a couple of answers to questions asked previously. Byron Starks coaches at LSU-Eunice which is a two year college. LSU-S is much better than LSU-A. They run a disciplined offense that is definitely not a slow down. They are very fundamental and have good shooters in general. That game was actually in doubt will into the second half. Tonight's game was never in doubt. LSU-A tries to play at a fast pace which does not always work when the opponent has more athletes than you. Great job on the boards by the Cajuns tonight. They should win the rebounding battle in a game like this but there is no denying their effort and hustle contributed to that result. On the negative side, 18 turnovers is way too many and that is disappointing as pre game focus was to improve in that area. 10 of 30 from three is better than the last two games but not where it needs to be. 30 threes may look to be too many but they shot the ball 89 times. 1/3 of your shots being threes is fairly normal for most teams these days. A couple of more of those go in and you are close to your goal. I was happy to see more mid range shots taken at times but not enough of those went in either. So far, I have not seen a performance good enough to indicate we can beat Tech on Saturday. We have shown glimpses of the potential to do so but but not in sustained enough stretches. Tech did lost to LSU but they had a rough shooting afternoon. In their three wins they were close to 40 percent from three. Tech also has a 6'7" guy that weighs 275 pounds. His name is Lofton and LSU had no answer for him around the glass. He will be a load for us. Success on Saturday will come with our best assist turnover ratio game of the year, finally going above 35 percent from three, and preventing Lofton from dominating inside. We are capable of doing this but it will require the best effort of the year.

LSU-S had 4 former D-1 players including Kadavion Evans, while LSU-A has 1 and he was a walkon here that never actually saw the court, left before the season started. So yes, S > A.

When you have 29 offensive rebounds, you don't need to shoot the 3 a whole lot better than we did. lol. That's crazy. A good rebounding team would generally average about half that in a game. Glad we used our talent advantage in at least one good way.

Heck we had half those offensive rebounds on that one possession right before the half.
