Thread: Bowl game projections

    UL Football Bowl game projections

This year has very strange and predicting anything is tough. But outside of the CFP, do these bowl projection guys just blindly throw darts to fill out their projections?

    https://www.sportingnews.com/us/amp/...214697pu8p2ma6

I’ve see a few that have us playing on the 23rd, 4 days after we play the Championship game. That ain’t happening.

If we’re going to stick with our conference tie ins, the viable bowls look like the Camellia on Christmas Day or the Cure or Lending Tree the day after.

What do you think the chances are that the bowl games just keep this year weird and do some dealing to get good matchups? Is that what the pool vs. pool designation is on some of the tie ins?

Or we can just say to hell with it and go to the Peach bowl.

I'm hoping we go outside of the tie ins and get a new year's bowl. Hopefully, the commish is politicing for us.

I will dream along with you. However, the chances of that happening, unless we are the top ranked G5 team begin at slim and diminish from there. There are six New Year's Day Bowls. Even if we win the championship bigly, if Cincinnatti wins their championship, they will be ranked higher than the Cajuns. If that happens Louisiana will almost certainly not be in the top 12 in rankings, which means they would have to be chosen over a higher ranked P5 team who is better known and would be believed to draw higher ratings. Our only chance is to be the highest ranked G5 champion.

I don’t think Gill has left his house since he became commish. Seriously, the guy has not made sound. He is basically Bernie from Weekend at Bernies. After he died.

It would be a shame to have a season like we’re having and not get another shot at another good team.

If we don’t hit the lottery and get the ny6 bowl, I’ll take la tech anywhere. Christmas Day would be great.

So get this....right now there are 68 bowl slots. Guess how many teams are sitting at .500 or better right now? Yep, 68

I’ll say what I’ve always said....(1) bowl tie-in team. At-large the other one. Better matchups and regional traveling.

    I was not expecting this

Are you considering bowls that aren't operational this year due to COVID?

Only the bowls that have been identified as continuing. No camelia, or Bahamas, Aloha, etc...

Actually my point was that with six bowls, more than likely the top 12 teams will be chosen.
    I can't imagine a NY6 Bowl taking a lower ranked G5 Team over a higher ranked P5 team.

No New Years bowl will willingly choose a g5. We get in the ny6 and probably end up playing Iowa state again. Haha
